The municipal government of Badalona has taken stock of security in the city since it has been in office and the figures are not very encouraging: burglaries in homes have increased by 35% compared to the previous year.
These data, collected up to July 2016 and made public last October, are not good for a city council that has set out to continue working to improve them. While awaiting official data for the full year 2016, there is every reason to believe that the figures indicate a significant increase in burglaries compared to 2015.
According to the Guardia Urbana, this increase is partly due to the fact that burglars can easily sell what they steal from homes via the Internet. The Guardia Urbana also warns that it is necessary to take extreme precautions and “take all possible measures”, recalling that there are many ways of accessing a home and that all of them must be specially protected against intruders.
Courtyards, terraces, balconies, windows... many of the assaults do not take place from the front door of the home and it is necessary, not only to protect these accesses, but also to take the appropriate precautions when we are going to be outside our home.
